Terms & Conditions
At Sprint Van Lines we strive to ensure that your overall experience with us will be a positive and
stress free one. In order to serve you to the best of our abilities, we have certain policies and
procedures to which we must adhere. These policies have been put in place to protect both you
and Sprint Van Lines.
Sprint Van Lines has a minimum moving requirement as follows:
2 hrs of Labor, plus
1 hr for Travel Time (Standard in the Industry)
TOTAL – 3 Hrs
Sprint Van Lines shall not be liable for the following:
• Delays caused by highway obstruction,
• Faulty or impassable highways,
• Lack of capacity of any highway, bridge or ferry,
• Breakdown or mechanical defect of vehicles or equipment,
• OR from any cause other than negligence of Sprint Van Lines.
If there are any questions, or if you do not understand something, please feel free to call the office
or email us at any time, one of our professionally courteous staff member will be happy to
assist you.
Arrival Times:
Sprint Van Lines always gives you an estimated window of time for arrival. We
will do everything within our power to make sure that we are there within that window of time. If
we are running early or late or in the very rare case of breakdown or mechanical defect of
vehicles or equipment, we will call you as soon as possible and let you know, we do apologize in
advance on the off chance that this may occur. Please make sure we have a phone number to get
in touch with you on your moving day as well as upon delivery of your items, it is essential to
maintain contact during your move.
Contents of Drawers:
All drawers of Pressed Wood or Particle Board furniture must be
completely empty. Any kind of furniture that is made out of this material will have very limited
to no value as far as liability of the company. Sprint Van Lines will not disassemble or
reassemble furniture made of this material. Should you choose to disassemble your furniture,
we will move the pieces and will not reassemble upon delivery.
The contents of all desk drawers must be removed. Standard file cabinets (2 drawers only) can
stay packed, however, the drawers either must be locked or securely taped shut. Lateral and
Fireproof file cabinets must be emptied, clothing may remain in dresser drawers, but please
remove fragile, valuable, and heavy items (i.e. perfume, jewelry, jewelry boxes (large or small),
books, papers: please secure all of your important paperwork, for e.g. personal identification
information, account information, etc.)
Plasma and Flat Screen/ Flat Panel TV’s: These items are very susceptible to damage from
extreme temperatures, slight bumps, and altitude changes. The original packaging is best for
moving them. These items must be crated or packed in original boxes before shipment. We will
not move these items without packing/crating properly. There is an additional charge for
preparing these items for your move.
Additional Charges:
There may be additional charges for transportation of items not included in the original estimate.
Extra pickups and/or deliveries, removal and /or replacement of doors, packing done at the
request of you the customer, and any service considered out of the ordinary may incur additional
charges.
Please be sure to read the “Understanding Your Estimate” section of your estimate
for a better understanding of other additional charges that may be incurred by you on the
day of your move. Here you will find information regarding Elevator Fees or Stair Fees;
Long-Carry Fees; Shuttle Fees, and much more! Elevators: Be sure to contact your
building supervisor to reserve the elevator and have it padded for the day of your move.
Also, note any time restriction that might apply.
Bulky Items:
Pool tables, pianos, treadmills, elliptical, riding lawn mowers, hot tubs,
motorcycles, and other items that may be added to this list upon assessment by a Sprint
Van Lines professional and will be charged a "bulky item" charge. It will be in addition
to the hourly/cubic feet charge of the move.
Inclement Weather:
If there is an instance that your move falls on a day when there is
inclement weather, e.g. snow, weather advisory days etc. All was ask is that you clear
your driveway of snow so that the 26 foot moving truck(s) can access your home. If
this is NOT possible for you to get done in time, as we all know things happen, the
crew will be happy to assist you with snow and ice removal for an additional cost. We
will do everything in our power to keep your items undamaged by said weather
conditions, but cannot make any guarantees.
Jewelry and Other Valuables:
Sprint Van Lines advises that it is in your best interest to
purchase additional insurance, to protect your jewelry and other valuables, most times
your home owner’s insurance may provide some sort of coverage for this. Sprint Van
Lines also provides additional options for Additional Insurance through our Insurance
Company for and Additional Cost. Please note that we will not be liable for any missing of
valuables such as documents, medicine, priceless items, jewelry, and currency.
Damages:
At the beginning of every move, your relocation specialist would have advised you of
the wrapping/packing options and costs to protect your belongings during your move, as this is a
service that Sprint Van Lines offers. Should you choose to not use our protective services, and
sign a release of liability, Sprint Van Lines WILL NOT be held liable/cover/reimburse you for
any damage that may occur because of your refusal to use our wrapping/packing services.
Although our movers will be as careful as possible, from time to time damages may occur. If
there is damage, please notify your movers immediately. Damages must be noted on your contract. If
you discover damage after the move, call the office within 60 days of your move. No damage
claims will be honored until the charges for moving services have been paid in full. Damages
caused while loading or unloading your truck or storage unit: Sprint Van Lines is only
responsible for items in our immediate care, custody, and control.
Included in our rates FREE of charge, is the basic valuation package with coverage of $0.60 per
pound per article if anything is lost or damaged. For additional coverage, contact us at least 2
weeks prior to your move.
Released Valuation Coverage:
Sprint Van Lines provides FREE of charge with a Released
Valuation Coverage that is $0.60 per pound per article, on all moves as is federally mandated by
law. It is not full replacement value.
Right of Refusal:
We reserve the right not to service you under conditions that, at our sole
discretion, we consider dangerous, unsanitary, or abusive. In the event we exercise this right, we
will not be liable to you or any other entity for direct or consequential damages.
Gratuities for the Movers/Packers:
We only mention this because so many people ask. It is
customary in the moving industry, though it is not mandatory. If you feel that your movers have
done a good job for you and you would like to tip them, you can either give the Foreman the full
amount and it will be divided equally among the crew members, or you can give the tip to each
mover individually, based upon your assessment of their performance.
Filling of Claims & Complaints:
In the event that you should need to file a claim…Please contact Sprint Van Lines as there may
be forms that need to be filled out. Claims must be submitted in writing to the company within
90 days from the date of delivery. Sprint Van Lines shall not be liable for the loss, destruction or
damage of goods tendered hereunder or any part thereof unless claim is made in writing and
supported by proof of ownership, together with substantiation of value, and weight.
As a condition precedent, all outstanding money due to the company must be paid in full before
a claim can be submitted. It is solely the shipper’s responsibility to inspect and indicate
damaged or missing items on the inventory logs at the time of delivery. Valuation of claim will
be based on those indications subject to the limitations of liability as described on the Bill of
Lading. Liability for the carrier will be in accordance with the liability option the shipper
contracts for. BE ADVISED THAT THERE IS NO COVERAGE FOR FURNITURE THAT IS
MADE OUT OF COMPRESSED WOOD.
Sprint Van Lines can not be held responsible for items left at the residence after loading. it is your
responsibility to make sure that nothing is left behind. Please make sure that you check your
closets, cabinets, drawers, attics, basement, garage and any outside areas before the driver
leaves the pickup.
REMINDER: Do not ship bank bills, coins, currency, securities, deeds, notes, drafts, valuable
papers of any kind, jewelry, postage or revenue stamps, stamp collections, precious stones or
precious metals. These items are not covered by any security option.
